PEGAS enters the USA beer market
In April 16 - 18, 2008 the Novosibirskprodmash Company took part in the Craft Brewers Conference & BrewExpo America in San-Diego, California, USA. This trade show became a perfect start for the PEGAS launching to the USA beer market.
As the exhibition showed the American craft brewers appreciated the idea of selling draught beer for take-away.
Besides they already sell draught beer for take - away in glass bottles known as “growlers”. So they are in particular interested in the PEGAS device for filling glass bottles without foaming. Many of them wished to buy such device for their microbreweries.
However, the most frequent question of the visitors was about the availability of plastic bottles at retail in the USA. We have surveyed the USA plastic market and found several companies producing plastic bottles with PCO / BPF bottlenecks which are suitable for the PEGAS device.

Summarizing the results of this exhibition we came to the following conclusions:
1. There is a demand in such device as the PEGAS manual bottle filler in the USA. Most of microbreweries fill glass bottles named “growlers” with draught beer. So they are interested in a device that allows them to fill glass bottles with draught beer without foaming.
2. In the USA there is another standard for all threaded connections, i.e. G 3/16. So for the USA market we have to modify the PEGAS device with G 5/8 threaded connection (European standard) into G 3/16 threaded connection or supply the PEGAS device with the corresponding adapter.
3. In the USA there is a certain problem with buying plastic bottles for beer at retail. Many companies produce and wholesale the plastic bottles for soft drinks, but they are transparent while brewers prefer amber-colored plastic bottles for draught beer.
At the moment the Novosibirskprodmash Company is working at a new modification of the PEGAS device for dispensing draught beer into glass bottles. It will be available for the customers by the end of 2008.
